Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, announced that it will establish an innovation center in Silicon Valley in the United States on April 11.

The Hangzhou Silicon Valley Innovation Center, expected to open this October, will be jointly built by Hangzhou's Science and Technology Commission and the management committee of the Hangzhou Economic Development Zone.

The center will include five platforms, including a cross-border incubator for overseas high-caliber talent and projects, an intellectual property platform to serve international research teams, a platform for exchanges and cooperation between businesses and individuals, and a financial center.

The innovation center will spur more cooperative projects between Silicon Valley and Hangzhou. It will also play a key role in promoting Hangzhou's preferential policies and globalizing local companies.
