Jiande Aviation Town, one of the national characteristic towns in Hangzhou's Jiande city, saw 12 investment projects signed on Sept 18 in Shanghai.

The agreements were inked between the town and prominent domestic institutions in the general aviation industry, such as the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China and SkyView Aircraft, a company that provides professional sales and support services for fixed-wing aircraft.

The 12 projects, worth approximately 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion), covered several fields including aircraft manufacturing, marking a breakthrough in attracting investment for the town.  

"We came to Shanghai this time to gather the resources needed to build the town into a model of the general aviation industry," said You Rongfu, an official from Jiande.

Jiande Aviation Town has achieved a total investment of 18.63 billion yuan in the past three years, forming a whole industry chain integrating elements such as manufacturing and leisure tourism.
