A poem seminar on the Qiantang River, the mother river of East China's Zhejiang province, kicked off in Hangzhou on Sept 26.
As part of the 2nd Hangzhou Qiantang River International Cultural Festival, the seminar, divided into three parts, saw the presence of distinguished artists and performers to recite about the folk culture that sprung up along the Qiantang River and the origins of Chinese civilization.
As the mother river of Hangzhou and Zhejiang province, Qiantang River has long been considered the cradle of silk, tea and porcelain cultures.
