A regulatory proposal on the management of Alibaba Cloud's City Brain solution was recently released in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, according to the Hangzhou Municipal Data Resource Administration.

Alibaba Cloud's City Brain solution was launched at the company's headquarters in Hangzhou in 2016, using artificial intelligence technology in urban transport management. After two years' of development, the system has been extended into multiple fields, including healthcare, tourism, environmental protection, and police services.

The paper stipulates the terms and definitions, basic principles, institutions involved and their responsibilities, overall structures, capacity design, standard specifications, evaluation and improvement of the City Brain solutions.

The proposal also lists five basic principles to be followed in the management of City Brain with the focus on innovation, integrated planning and people-oriented services.

Another management standard on the safety of data sharing was also released detailing the general principles, basic requirements and security issues related with data collection, storage, transmission, processing and sharing.

The ET Brain is a gift presented to the world by Hangzhou, said an official from Hangzhou Municipal Data Resource Administration, who hopes that the introduction of the papers can provide constructive references for other cities around the world in building smart city cloud solutions.
