X the Land of Fantasy, the only resident show of Canadian entertainment troupe the Cirque du Soleil in China, made its debut to great acclaim in Hangzhou Suntiandy Theater, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 9.

Presented in a state-of-art theatre developed by the Hangzhou Xintiandi Group, the 72-minute resident show featured a flurry of advanced technologies, offering the audience immersive experiences in opera, acrobatic performances, dancing, martial arts, figure skating and magic.

The seating area is divided into two parts, both capable of revolving 360 degrees, while artists perform between them.

The show is supported by artists from 11 countries including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Canada.

Daniel Lamarre, CEO of the Quebec-based company, said that the show had met his  expectations and showcased the special success of the Cirque du Soleil in China.

The resident show will be played in Hangzhou for the next 10 years, with the price ranging from 380 yuan ($55) to 1,680 yuan, according to Hangzhou Xintiandi Group.
