The 13th Hangzhou Cultural & Creative Industry Expo (CCIE), one of China's biggest cultural and creative industry events, will be held in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, from Sept 19 to 23, said organizers on Aug 23.

With a total display area of 70,000 square meters, the five-day event will include eight exhibition areas – international communication, creative life, Belt and Road Initiative, design innovation, fashion market and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Organizers said that the international exhibition area, in particular, has doubled in size from the previous edition, accounting for 50 percent of the total exhibition area of the main venue.

More than 400 overseas companies and cultural institutions from 53 countries and regions will set up pavilions with displays showcasing cultural and creative products.

Italy will serve as the official guest country for this year's expo and organize a series of Italian cultural exchange activities in the 1,000 square-meter exhibition area.

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a 400-square-meter exhibition will be featured during the expo, displaying over 70 exquisite artworks from 30 renowned artists.

Along with the product exhibition, another 22 forums and matchmaking activities will also be held during the event. Leading figures and established creative design companies in related industries will engage with each other and explore modern industry trends.

A cultural cooperation alliance including cities in the Yangtze River Delta region will be set up during the expo.

CCIE, now in its 13th year, has become one of the four major expos in China's cultural and creative industry and a trademark for Hangzhou.
