An exhibition of ceramic art works by artists from Arab States was unveiled at Zhejiang Modern Ceramic Art Museum in Hangzhou on Oct 22.

More than 100 ceramic works by 10 renowned ceramists from Arab States were on display.

The exhibition was part of the cultural exchange program organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which aims to invite artists from Arab States to seek inspiration in China.

The program, which was founded under the framework of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, was initiated in 2009, and functions as a platform to bolster relations between China and Arab States.

This year's program invited esteemed ceramists from Jordan, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Sudan to a number of Chinese cities including Hangzhou, Lishui and Shanghai.

Moaaz ELdmassy, a delegate from Egypt, said that China's architecture style gave him a lot of ideas, leading to a new series of works.

Abdelkrim Faical Hemaidat, an artist from Algeria who came to China for the first time, brought new works implementing elements of calligraphy and Chinese painting back to his hometown.

What impressed Mohammed Thaifa from Morocco most was the workshop and materials provided by Zhejiang Modern Ceramic Art Museum. He added that some of the tools were totally different from those in his country.

The exhibition will last until Nov 11 and is open to the public for free.
