The Xiacheng Digital Economy Chamber of Commerce was recently founded in Xiacheng district, Hangzhou, according to a local news release.

The chamber of commerce was launched by five digital economy companies in the district with the aim of helping promote the industrial integration of the digital economy.

In recent years, Xiacheng has been focusing on developing internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence, and information software, and has gathered a large number of digitally-oriented companies.

The association will help deepen cooperation between sections of the digital economy industrial chain, move traditional manufacturing companies in a more digital direction, and improve the competiveness of the digital economy in Xiacheng district, said Shu Jian, chairman of the Xiacheng Federation of Industry and Commerce.

A think tank has also been founded within the association to provide counseling services.

Ye Xiaozhong, executive director of the research center of corporate law management at Chin University of Political Science and Law, Song Xia, assistant dean of the Research Institute of the Cultural Industry at Renmin University of China, and several other scholars and executives have already been invited to be members of the think tank.

The chamber of commerce was founded at a critical moment, as Hangzhou is currently on track to make significant digital economy development breakthroughs, and it will play a significant role in enhancing exchanges and cooperation between digital companies, according to remarks by Huang Fei, director of the united front work department of Xiacheng.
