Zhejiang steps up anti-COVID-19 pandemic measures

The Zhejiang Provincial Government announced its latest counter-pandemic instructions at its 61st press conference for the province's COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control efforts, held on Jan 15.

As of the end of Jan 14, Zhejiang had not reported any locally transmitted COVID-19 cases for 212 consecutive days. In total, 10 confirmed cases were being treated in hospitals and 31 asymptomatic carriers were under medical observation, of whom 29 of the cases were imported from abroad and one was from other Chinese provinces.

Zhejiang has announced a "7+7" health management measure for travellers from medium- and high-risk regions outside the province. The travellers should undergo a seven-day health observation at home, with nucleic acid testing arranged on the first and seventh day, as well as another seven days of health monitoring, with the testing arranged following the last day.

So far, a total of 1,726 clinics throughout the province have qualified for emergency inoculations of COVID-19 vaccines, with 16,000 medical workers receiving related training and certification for the vaccination.

The emergency vaccination program has been steadily proceeding, with a total of 531,000 individuals having been vaccinated, with no serious adverse reactions reported so far.
