Year-ender: Hangzhou's economic progress

1. Hangzhou ranked first among domestic cities in terms of business environment on a list released by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.

2. Hangzhou has for the past three years ranked first among domestic cities in terms of net inflow rates of domestic talent, overseas talent, and talent in the internet industry.

3. Six service trade cases in Hangzhou were designated by the State Council as "excellent practical cases", the highest designation among domestic cities.

4. Hangzhou was the first city in China to dispatch a chartered train to Enshi, Central China's Hubei province, on March 21, 2020, to shuttle workers back to Hangzhou.

5. Hangzhou surpassed Shanghai in capital vitality in 2020, an indicator that shows the number, market value, and level of involvement in emerging industries of listed enterprises in a given city.

6. The digital economy and manufacturing industry have boosted the city's economic progress, as statistics show that from January to November 2020, the added value of enterprises above designated size (enterprises with an annual output of over 20 million yuan) grew 3.5 percent year-on-year to 323.5 billion yuan ($50 billion).

7. The Hangzhou City Brain app has integrated a variety of functions to enhance the city's digital governance capabilities and provide local residents with more digitally-supported services.

8. Hangzhou has led "new" development in infrastructure, consumption, manufacturing, e-commerce, healthcare, and city governance.
