Starting Feb 19, people who are registered residents of the Yangtze River Delta region in East China -- which consists of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces and Shanghai municipality -- no longer need to handle time-consuming and arduous administrative procedures when they move from one city to another, according to local media reports.
Those seeking to transfer household registration within the region now need only to make applications at the police station of the community they are moving to.
For those moving to Zhejiang province, the application can just be made through online platforms, without the necessity of in-person visits at government service windows.
The move by authorities in the YRD region is part of wider efforts to meet the demands by the State Council to integrate administrative services across the region to serve the public welfare
