More than 30 members of the Olympic Council of Asia, including those from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, Jordan, Cambodia, Mongolia and Bahrain, recently expressed their hope to participate in the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which is scheduled to be held from Sept 10-25, 2022 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province.

On Aug 6, which marks the 400-day countdown to the opening of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the OCA and the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee jointly issued 45 invitation letters, which were sent to 45 OCA members, together with the Games' mascot, badges, flags, bookmarks and souvenir hats.

"The invitation letter is a sign that Hangzhou has officially invited friends from 45 Asian countries and regions to come next year," said an official of the organizing committee.

The Sports Olympic Committee of Macao, China was the first OCA member to confirm acceptance of the invitation letter.

Pun Wengkun, vice-president of the Sports Olympic Committee of Macao, China, immediately sent a text message to the organizing committee after receiving the invitation letter, expressing his full expectations of participating in the Hangzhou Asian Games.

"We will meet in Hangzhou next September," said Ronnie Wong, honorary secretary-general of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China.

Wong expressed his hope to come to Hangzhou in Mandarin, Cantonese and English via a video while holding the invitation letter in his hands.

The Jordan Olympic Committee used a camera to record the whole process of opening the invitation package.

Two staff members carefully opened the package sent by the HAGOC, and took the Games' mascots out. They opened the envelope and read the invitation letter.

The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan posted a photo on Instagram of four staff members holding the invitation letter and mascots in front of the exhibition hall of their Olympic committee.

Jigme Thinley, a senior official of Bhutan Olympic Committee, received the invitation letter on Aug 27, and expressed his expectations of attending the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Korean Sport & Olympic Committee also received the invitation letter.

Park Inkyu, a senior official of Korean Sport &Olympic Committee, took a photo with the Hangzhou Asian Games' mascots and the invitation letter and expressed his expectations of participating in Hangzhou 2022.

The photos and videos shot by OCA representatives will be used in a promotional video for the one-year countdown activities of the Hangzhou Asian Games, according to the organizing committee.

In the past year, the construction of the Hangzhou Asian Games' competition venues and Asian Games Village have been in full swing, and most of which have entered the completion acceptance stage.

In addition, the Games' sports pictograms, core graphics and color system have been released.

The organizing committee also launched a short video contest; revealed its first of musical works selected from a public campaign; and launched global volunteer recruitment. Designs for Games' medals, other awards, supplies and official poster have also been solicited.

In order to celebrate the one-year countdown to the Hangzhou Asian Games, the host city will cooperate with the co-host cities, including Ningbo, Wenzhou, Huzhou, Shaoxing and Jinhua to present a series of ceremonies, artistic performances and mass sports activities.

The HAGOC will hold a one-year countdown activity at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Tennis Center on the night of Sept 10.

The event will be attended by officials from the General Administration of Sport of China, the Zhejiang provincial government, and the governments of Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Huzhou, Shaoxing and Jinhua as well as members of the public.

The theme of the activity is "Expecting", and it is intended to express the city's, province's, country's and even the whole Asian people's warm expectations for the Hangzhou Asian Games.

The event will display the latest achievements of the Hangzhou Asian Games, release the Games' official sports clothing, ceremonial clothing images and torch image.

The HAGOC will hold a garden party in Hubin Pedestrian Street in Shangcheng district in Hangzhou on the morning of Sept 10, for people to feel the Asian Games' atmosphere.

An "Asian Games in China" themed exhibition, an Esports experience exhibition and an "Asian Games in China" franchise products release and sales event will be highlights of the garden party. In addition, on Sept 12, the organizing committee will hold two offline activities－"Dance Together for the Asian Games" and "Draw the Dream Together for the Asian Games".
