Hangzhou, capital city of East China's Zhejiang province, celebrated the fourth Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in Guangming village, Lin'an district on Sept 23, local media reported.

The festival included performances, a rural revitalization achievements exhibition, and a fair.

Over the next month, Hangzhou will organize a variety of activities, including food festivals and the International Rice Fragrance Festival, to showcase its fruitful results in the construction of beautiful rural areas, as well as the high-quality development of its agriculture sector.

In recent years, Hangzhou has implemented measures to develop rural areas, especially by cultivating companies to help develop the rural economy. As of the end of 2020, the city has fostered 148 such companies, which are involved in tourism, homestays, farm produce planting, and marketing, and they have generated annual profits of 103 million yuan ($15.94 million).
