These results were largely due to Hangzhou's efforts to ensure the stability of international supply chains and capital chains.

For example, Hangzhou issued policies for the allocation and transportation of empty containers for foreign trade and secured 60,505 new containers to help 40 enterprises tide over difficulties.

Hangzhou has also promoted a credit system to ensure that small- and medium-sized enterprises can get loans at lower interest rates and without having to place mortgages. The system has to date granted credit totaling 770 billion yuan to 109 enterprises.

Online exhibitions also created a new channel between Hangzhou and overseas markets. These events featured an innovative digital mode in which Chinese products were displayed at brick-and-mortar booths overseas, while the sellers were able to communicate with interested buyers online in real-time.

The 2021 China (United Arab Emirates) Trade Fair, which was held in Dubai, the UAE, from Dec 7 to 9, adopted this mode of exhibition and attracted nearly 200 domestic exhibitors and more than 10,000 buyers from the UAE and neighboring countries and regions.
