The government of Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, has listed the seven key tasks it aims to achieve in the next five years, local media outlets reported.

The city will strive to develop itself into a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship by enhancing science and technology self-reliance, setting up a stronger global talent pool, and speeding up the commercialization of scientific and technological results.

It will continue its emphasis on the real economy by maintaining its leading role in digital economy, accelerating the construction of an internationally-advanced manufacturing base, and paying closer attention to new forms of consumption.

It will deepen reform and opening-up in a holistic way by exploring more digital reform possibilities, improving its business environment, establishing closer ties with cities in the Yangtze River Delta region, and setting up a global digital trade center.

By setting up the goal of realizing cultural prosperity, Hangzhou will strive to become a national model city of social development and build an international cultural and creative center.

With common prosperity as its ultimate goal, Hangzhou will be devoted to improving people's livelihoods by offering high quality and balanced public services, promoting coordinated development between regions, and devoting more energy to rural vitalization.

Hangzhou will continue to improve its urban layout, enhance its ecological environmental management system, make more efforts related to wetland protection, and contribute to China's carbon emissions and carbon neutrality goals.

Hangzhou will also promote the modernization of its urban governance system and capabilities and strive to become one of the safest and most intelligent cities in China.
