The Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated with the Zhejiang University School of Medicine on Feb 28 conducted a simulation exercise to prepare itself for the upcoming Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.

A panel of six medical experts acted as invigilators and gave scores to those who participated in the exercise.

The experts designed more than 20 scenarios in which participants had to provide medical solutions to "athletes" suffering from an injury or a disease. The participants were also evaluated based on their English proficiency.

The test was aimed at selecting the best medical personnel from the hospital to support the Asian Games, said one executive of the hospital.

To date, 399 medical workers have stood out from the preliminary review and are awaiting the next stage of the selection process.

The final batch of medical workers selected will come from fields including emergency rescue, cardiology, surgery, rehabilitation medicine, and nursing.
