Hangzhou Customs issued a total of 8,835 RCEP certificates of origin from January to March with an export value of 2.39 billion yuan ($358.32 million), bringing in more than 24 million yuan for local enterprises.
Online verification and self-printing of the RCEP certificate of origin is a key measure taken by Hangzhou Customs to simplify the clearance process and help enterprises reduce burdens and increase efficiency. Currently, 18 kinds of certificates of origin can be self-printed.
Hangzhou Ailong Metal Product Co, a manufacturer of construction fasteners and hardware machinery, has recently made use of the service.
"With this certificate of origin, we can enjoy a tariff discount of 31,000 yuan for this batch of goods," said Li Zhifang, a foreign trade manager at the company. "We export about 20 batches of goods every month and the new service really saves us a lot of time."
Hangzhou Customs has also recruited a group of professionals from the tariff, supervision and commodity inspection departments, who have carried out more than 80 publicity activities for RCEP policies in the form of livestreams and lectures.
