River Opus, an international community under the New World Hangzhou Arts Center in the Hangzhou-Hong Kong high-end service demonstration zone, opened on April 29.

The New World Hangzhou Arts Center, which is situated in the heart of the demonstration zone, covers an area of 740,000 square meters and will be used as a commercial complex comprising business entities, residential buildings and hotels.

The center will have the first K11 shopping art center and Rose Wood Hotel in Hangzhou.

"I hope that the New World Hangzhou Arts Center will become a bridge of culture and art linking Hangzhou and the other parts of the world," said Echo Huang, executive director of New World Development Company Limited at the opening ceremony.

The New World Hangzhou Arts Center was designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2014 and German architect Ole Scheeren who won Royal Institute of British Architects Silver Medal in 2010. The center broke ground in March 2020.
