An Asian Games painting contest and a young reporter project, two promotional activities initiated by the Olympic Council of Asia under the Asian Games for All scheme, have spurred the active participation of Asian countries and regions in the international event in recent years, said Haider Farman, director of the Asian Games Department of OCA, during an interview with the Hangzhou Asian Games magazine.

"It is important to get children involved in Olympic sports," Farman said.

The Asian Games for All seeks to cengage societies all over the continent, help develop sports, culture and education among the youth of Asia, and build excitement for Hangzhou 2022.

The painting contest, which targets students at or under the age of 13, encourages the youngsters to show their creativity through art and reflect on the joy of sports.

Pakistan, Nepal and Hong Kong have already rolled out the activity. They will submit the top 10 entries, created by five girls and five boys, respectively, to the OCA, which will authorize the Hangzhou Asian Games organizing committee to form an expert team and select the final four winners – two girls and two boys. Their works will be posted at the main media center of the Asian Games and the OCA headquarters hotel in Hangzhou.
