With the arrival of summer, the Xixi National Wetland Park in Hangzhou, capital city of East China's Zhejiang province, is now filled with lush green trees and vibrant flowers, creating scenes straight out of a painting and giving locals a refuge from the summer heat.

Purple vervain flowers in the park's Xialong Sands will be in full bloom until mid June, while a wall covered with roses has been a hit among tourists.

About 2,000 square meters of flowers and plants will be grown along the river in the wetland park and more than 10 different flowers will gradually start blooming from July.
