Hangzhou elevator manufacturer Xizi Elevator Co is aiming to fully automate its production chain, local media reported on June 20.

Xu Wenming, vice-president of the elevator manufacturer, said that automatic quality inspection and real-time monitoring systems have been put in place to achieve this goal.  

Modular welding machines that have an error rate of just 0.01mm have also been installed on the assembly lines.

Due to these measures, the company has increased its production efficiency by eight times.

The company has also developed a system which can track the operational conditions of each elevator. Once the system detects a malfunction, the company's command center can swiftly dispatch their nearest engineer to repair the elevator.
