Thirty-five young people from Taiwan took an immersive trip to the table tennis and hockey stadium of the 19th Asian Games in Gongshu district, Hangzhou on June 29, getting first-hand information of the Games on their own, local media outlets reported.

They were first introduced to the table tennis venue, which was inspired by cong, a jade piece that forms a quadrangle tube with a circular inner section and is the most typical type of artifact unearthed in the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City.

"The venue was designed with a smart security system, drone transportation, tools for children for riding instead of walk. It will be used as a comprehensive indoor stadium for the benefit of all citizens after the Games," the commentator said.

The group was also impressed by the hockey stadium, one of the most eye-catching venues of the Games by resembling the shape of an oiled paper umbrella, a cultural icon of Hangzhou.

"The hockey stadium has a floor area of 13,000 square meters, which can provide nearly 5,000 seats. It can also be transformed into a football field after the Games," the commentator introduced.

The youngsters expressed their pride and confidence in Hangzhou in hosting the Games. They also hoped to do their best to contribute to the international sporting event.
