An art exhibition of 200 calligraphy and painting works echoing the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 was held at the Zhejiang Cultural Hall from July 6 to 10, local media outlets reported.

Sixty of the works were winners of a Chinese calligraphy and painting competition with the same name as the exhibition, which was initiated by the local government last September and consisted of five gold-prize works, 10 silver-prize works, 15 bronze-prize works, and 30 works winning the excellence award.

Fifty of the exhibits were created by experts at the invitation of the organizer, giving them a chance to showcase their knowledge of traditional Chinese art.

Zhuo Hejun, the art director of the competition and professor at the Chinese Academy of Art, said that whether calligraphy, seal cutting or traditional Chinese painting, the artistic works reflect the creators' feelings about the Asian Games and convey a spirit of tolerance, unity, optimism and hard work.
