Ash Sutcliffe, a British man who has been in China for 19 and a half years, is currently in charge of global communications for Geely Holding Group in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

Sutcliffe was 18 years old  when he decided he wanted to do something very different and was interested in the "made in China" goods that surrounded him, leading him to think "what if I could be educated in China?"

In 2006, Sutcliffe came to study at Qingdao University in East China's Shandong province and soon got used to living in China and the Chinese way of life. In 2014, he got a job offer from Geely and it took him just 24 hours to accept the offer and move to Hangzhou.

As an outdoor sports enthusiast, Sutcliffe is fascinated by Hangzhou's balance between city and nature, and in the wider Zhejiang area. He said he thought the province was a paradise for outdoor sports year-round. He has visited the professional mountain parks in Jiande, a county-level city administered by Hangzhou, and the Ninghai trail network in neighboring city Ningbo, the best of its kind in China with 500 kilometers of hiking trails.
