YTO Express, the official logistics service provider of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, recently launched a team of unmanned delivery vehicles at the Asian Games Village, local media outlets reported.

With a designed maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour, the vehicles are equipped with a laser radar, a millimeter-wave radar, and several cameras. Coupled with an intelligent driving computing system, the vehicles can identify traffic lights and give way at intersections and on the sidewalks.

There are two vehicle types: smaller ones that are able to load goods weighing as much as 400 kilograms or 24 packages of different sizes, and larger ones that are able to load more than 200 packages.

People who want to try the service can make a reservation via YTO's official WeChat mini-program, type in their address, phone number, and the delivery time they prefer. The vehicles then deliver the goods and people only need to scan the QR code on the car to open the cabinet and get their package.

YTO is currently piloting the unmanned delivery vehicles in many other cities across China provide better services to athletes, coaches, officials and journalists who are about to live and work in the Asian Games Village.
