Ma Hongda, a student at Zhejiang Construction Technician College in Hangzhou, won gold in the Plastering and Drywall Systems section of the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition in Bordeaux, France on Oct 22.

It was the first time a Chinese competitor claimed gold in this section.

It was also the second time Zhejiang Construction Technician College had a student become a gold medalist, with the previous one, Cui Zhaoju, claiming the top spot in the Wall and Floor Tiling section at the 44th WorldSkills Competition in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates in 2017.

Plastering and Drywall Systems requires a comprehensive command of plastering flat surfaces, installing drywall systems, and creating decorative moldings on projects from private homes to historic houses.
