Jade ware show brings visitors back to Western Zhou Dynasty

An exhibition of jade wares preserved from the Kingdom Zhou of the Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC) opened at the Liangzhu Museum in Yuhang district, Hangzhou on Dec 6 and will last until March 15, 2023.

More than 170 pieces and sets of jade ware are mainly divided into two groups, with one highlighting their aesthetic value by showcasing a variety of colors, shapes and ornaments, and the other to reflect the rites and rituals of the kingdom.

A small number of bronze wares and gold vessels were also on display.

The relics were collected from the Shanxi Institute of Archaeology, also known as Shanxi Archaeological Museum, Shanxi Museum and the Museum of Kingdom Jin.
