The Youth Meeting Bodybuilding Center in Hangzhou has been running for 25 years and might not be the most modern of fitness facilities, but the charming location still attracts many young members, local media reported on Dec 15, 2022.

Besides its age, gym is also unlike its modern counterparts because it doesn't employ any instructors nor salespersons, said 60-year-old Fu Jianchen, the owner of the gym and secretary general of the Hangzhou Bodybuilding Association.

Fu, who opened the gym in 1987, charges each member just 150 yuan ($22.13) for a three-month membership.

"I seldom care about profits as long as I can make ends meet," said Fu. "My gym is like a big family. Five couples found love here and got married."
