The Zhongfa Aviation University in Pingyao town, Yuhang district, Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has taken shape recently with the greening of South Square and capping of the main building completed, local media outlets reported.

The complex has entered its final decoration phase and is expected to be completed by the first half of this year. It will welcome its first batch of students in September.

Zhongfa Aviation University, funded by Zhejiang province and the city of Hangzhou, was jointly established by Beihang University and the Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile in France.

The university is dedicated to multidisciplinary and innovation-oriented education, as well as cutting-edge and core technological research. With the goal of becoming a world-class research university, the school will stay committed to establishing a new model that is modern and forward-thinking.

The campus is located next to the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. The picturesque campus is expected to provide a conducive environment for students and staff to live and work. In the ongoing preparatory stage, the university is operating from an interim campus in northwestern Hangzhou.
