Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province announced that the online hiring season for the first quarter of 2023 is expected to start on Feb 1, local media outlets reported.

The hiring season, which will last for the duration of February, will include a large online job fair, six livestreaming job promotions, and more than 100 smaller-scale customized job fairs.

With support from local and national job seeking platforms, the hiring season will mainly target industries that are in urgent need of professionals, such as internet of things, high-end equipment, biopharmaceuticals, new materials, and green and low carbon.

The event has already attracted some 3,000 companies with over 100,000 job openings, including a number of industrial leaders, such as tech giant Alibaba Group and HikVision, and cutting-edge schools and research institutes like Zhejiang Laboratory and Westlake University.

The hiring season will also include sub-events targeting the private sector, new media platforms, and the culture and tourism sector.
