Year of the Pig exhibition underway in Hangzhou

A special exhibition for the Year of the Pig is underway in the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province.

Running until Apr 5, the exhibition is divided into different sectors introducing the origins of the pig, how it is domesticated, the cultural background of the animal and its contribution to human beings.

More than 10 specimens of the animal and 21 interactive games are on display.

The pig is one of the 12 symbolic creatures in the Chinese zodiac.

The Zhejiang Museum of Natural History received more than 166,000 visitors during the weeklong Spring Festival holiday with a daily average of 13,000 visitors.
