3rd China International Tea Expo finishes strong

The third China International Tea Expo came to a satisfying close in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on May 19.  

A total of 186.2 million yuan ($26.92 million) in deals were signed and nearly 222.9 tons of tea was sold during the five day event, a three-year high.

With the slogan "Tea and the World, Shared Development," this year's event brought together a total of 1,563 domestic and foreign exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions around the world and attracted more than 185,200 visitors.

Purchasers from 46 countries and regions, including the UK, New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka and Japan, participated in the event.

In addition to the tea-focused trade deals, an assortment of tea-related international conferences, forums, and dialogues were held on the sidelines, attracting nearly 200 overseas guests from 42 countries and regions.

The expo was jointly held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Zhejiang Government.
