As interprovincial group travel reopens in China, towering mountains and tranquil waters in Southwest China's Guizhou province are once again available for tourists from Zhejiang province, local media reported Aug 4.

The two provinces set up friendly ties years ago, when Zhejiang decided to support Guizhou's development. This time, Zhejiang was the first stop chosen by Guizhou to promote its tourism.

From Aug 1 to Dec 31, 2020, tourists holding a valid Zhejiang ID card can enjoy 50 percent off ticket prices when visiting A-grade scenic spots in Guizhou. Those who book via Yima Youguizhou, a mini-program embedded in the instant messaging app WeChat, can enjoy 60 percent off ticket prices. Medical staff, disease control and prevention workers and rural doctors can enjoy free access to local scenic spots. Coupons worth a total of 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) will also be issued to tourists.

Zhejiang and Guizhou complement each other in tourism resources, with the former boasting flowing streams and soft dialects, and the latter featuring precipitous cliffs and breathtaking waterfalls.

The two provinces built cooperative ties to boost tourism in 2016 and over 12 million people have visited their partner province.
