Jiangzhuang Villa

ehangzhou.gov.cn| Updated: August 15, 2018 L M S

Jiangzhuang Villa was originally known as Small Hall of Ten Thousand Willows, and then renamed to Langai Villa, before finally settling on its current moniker. It was built in 1901 by Lian Quan, a collector of inscribed metal and stone seals. Located on the southwest side of West Lake, the villa is distinctive in its combination of Chinese and Western architecture. Its landscape was designed to integrate the grounds of the villa with the surrounding environment. These features allow the villa to be enveloped by willows on three sides and enclosed by two causeways, offering views of rock scenery and the lake.
