A gathering of invited representatives and leading entrepreneurs from both sides of the Straits convened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Sept 20, to explore and enhance cross-Straits exchanges on creative industries and entrepreneurship for youths.

As part of the 2018 Cultural and Creative Industry Expo, the 2018 Creative communication Hangzhou-Taiwan, aimed at promoting the integration of talent resources in related industries, shall deepen cooperation between the two sides in cultural and creative industries and encourage entrepreneurship, said an event official.

"At present, when there is a great innovation demand in cultural and creative industries across the Straits, entrepreneurs should have the ability to integrate resources", said Wang Yao, CEO of Hangzhou-based Xiniu culture Co Ltd.

The young Taiwan entrepreneurs who start their businesses on the Chinese mainland are encouraged to participate in local entrepreneurial competitions through which they can gain experience and look for possible funding for their projects, according to one of the entrepreneur representatives.

At the event, an entrepreneurship alliance was established, while the Hangzhou Creative Design Center, a hub for cultural and creative cooperation across the Straits and a communication platform for youths from both sides, was named the entrepreneurship base for cross-Straits youths.

Since being established in 2015, the Hangzhou Creative Design Center has been committed to promoting exchanges of cross-Straits cultural and creative industries and held a raft of exchange activities.
