Cainiao Logistics, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd's logistics unit, announced on Sept 28 it has launched a global shipping service, allowing Chinese tourists to ship their purchased products back home while travelling abroad.

The service, which saves the tourists the trouble of carrying heavy baggage during their trip, has launched at its first store in the city of Los Angeles at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, one of the largest outlets in the state of California of the United States.

Since being initiated, the service has been well-received abroad and provided great convenience for tourists who just need to place their orders through Alipay, the mobile payment service of Alibaba Group. The goods will arrive about 10 days after the delivery.

"The newly-launched shipping service frees overseas Chinese tourists from the burden of carrying big baggage and I hope the service will be launched at other places so as to allow Chinese tourists to enjoy a care-free trip in foreign countries", said Zhou Wenning, director of the project.
