With the aim of facilitating cultural interaction between designers and craftspeople from all over the world, the China Craft Week 2018, a rising international platform for craftsmanship, opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, Nov 1.

As part of the activities of Qiantang River International Culture Festival, the exhibition, which focused on customized products, brought together renowned design masters, craftsmen and designers from home and abroad, including the United Kingdom, Italy, Ireland and Thailand to demonstrate diverse approaches to craft-making in both traditional and innovative ways.

Apart from the exhibition, a themed forum was held where industry leaders and artists shared ideas on the blend of traditional crafts and modern designs.

As the first comprehensive event in China on the theme of traditional craft innovation, China Craft Week, now in its second year, is dedicated to creating an international platform for the exchange and interaction of craftsmen from around the world, and to carry on the inheritance and spirits of these traditional crafts.
