Hangzhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Park, part of American e-commerce giant Amazon's Global Selling program, opened in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on April 10.

The program aims to help retailers expand business globally and sell to millions of overseas customers. The e-commerce giant currently has operations in 10 international marketplaces and customers in nearly 180 countries.

Located in Qiantang Smart City in Jianggan district, the newly-opened park, launched in 2017, is the first of its kind in the Amazon Global Selling program in China and will focus on brand operation, talent cultivation, and cross-border logistics.

The park has attracted a number of third-party service providers in cross-border logistics, VAT consultation of Europe, and brand registration to provide one-stop cross-border e-commerce export services for local companies.

Since 2016, cooperation ties between Hangzhou and Amazon Global Selling have been deepening with the launch of a slew of innovative projects, said Peng Jiaqi, vice president of Amazon China and head of product marketing for Amazon Global Selling Asia Pacific, adding that the Hangzhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Park is expected to help local companies seize global opportunities and maintain an edge in cross-border e-commerce exports.

Launched in China in 2012, the program has facilitated tens of thousands of Chinese merchants to sell their products in 12 countries, including the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Japan and Mexico.
