A collection of world renowned musicians and composers will come to Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province for the 2019 Hangzhou International Music Festival on July 5, bringing with them exquisite music from across the world.

Lasting until July 20, the weeklong musical feast will feature 46 musical performances and activities including symphony concerts, chamber music, percussion music and solo concerts, with 700 world-class musicians from 20 nations, including Germany, New Zealand, Japan, France, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Turkey, Poland, and the United Kingdom.

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chinese folk music compositions will be a highlight of this year's event. Classic patriotic works such as I Love You, China and Riding on the Wind will be staged at the opening ceremony.

Notably, the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra will give a performance with the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, one of the best orchestras in classical music, and sign a strategic agreement to advance cooperation in musician exchange and talent cultivation.

A light show honoring the festival will be held in more than 30 high-rise buildings in Qianjiang New City.

Successfully held for two years, the grand cultural event has developed into a bridge between Hangzhou and the outside world and is helping to raise the international profile of the city.
