Over the past few months, the China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) not only made its debut in North Africa, but also made waves at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, marking a significant forward for the festival in increasing its international profile.

CICAF is currently the largest, most popular and most influential professional cartoon and animation festival in China and the only state-level professional cartoon and animation festival in the country. The annual event has been held in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province since 2005.

Annecy, France

The 43rd Annecy International Animation Film Festival opened in the town of Annecy, France on June 10.

A total of 3,069 animation works from 94 countries and regions were received and 200 were shortlisted, 11 of which were from China, including the animated films White Snake and Kung Food.

As an important member of the International Cartoon & Animation Alliance Hangzhou Summit, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival has confirmed its participation in the the 2020 CICAF in Hangzhou.
