Hangzhou Bonded Logistics Center in Xiaoshan district of Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province is applying for a new comprehensive bonded zone focusing on airport economy, local media reported on Aug 9.

Once approved, the zone will become the second comprehensive bonded area in Hangzhou after the Hangzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

With a planned area of 452.4 mu (30.16 hectares), the zone will include the Hangzhou Bonded Logistics Center as well as several sections of the eastern international cargo terminal of Xiaoshan international Airport. It will focus on warehousing and logistics, airport services, cross-border e-commerce, business finance, digital manufacturing, and biomedicine.

The new area will also promote airport services, distribution and maintenance of aviation materials, aircraft financing leases and cross-border e-commerce settlements.

Officials said that the zone is expected to help expand cooperation with Xiaoshan International Airport, improve the customs process and contribute to the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
