Six hospitals in Hangzhou will team up with Zhejiang University to cooperate in research and training, according to an agreement signed by Hangzhou municipal health commission and Zhejiang University on Oct 30. 

The hospitals, which include Hangzhou First People's Hospital, will become affiliated healthcare providers to the university's medical college.

In order to improve the hospitals' research and innovation capacities, institutes specializing in certain diseases will be established. 

Hospitals can also apply for national and provincial-level projects by making use of the academic expertise of Zhejiang University. 

Experienced medical professionals specializing in clinical and basic research will be introduced to the hospitals, and they will be rewarded by both Zhejiang University and the government of Hangzhou.
