The 3rd Xiaoshan Future Forum opened in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 10.

The forum brought together more than 500 representatives from universities, institutes, and companies throughout Xiaoshan district to work toward cooperation.

During the forum, a number of renowned scholars and entrepreneurs working in Xiaoshan district were appointed "talent attraction ambassadors" to honor them for helping bring skilled workers and professionals to Xiaoshan.

Representatives from over 20 research institutes, including Peking University's Advanced Institute of Information Technology and the China-Ukraine Aerospace Research Institute, presented scientific discoveries they made in Xiaoshan district at the forum.

Zhang Dengfeng, head of the Xiaoshan government, said that the district, located on the southern part of the Qiantang River, has a vibrant private economy and dynamic innovative potential.

Talent has made Xiaoshan what it is today, and the district needs more talent to help shape its future, Zhang added.

In October, Xiaoshan implemented 25 new preferential policies to support skilled workers, professionals, researchers, and young entrepreneurs.
