Xiacheng district in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province established a chamber of commerce on Dec 17 to boost the digital economy. 

The chamber, initiated by five local digital companies, includes all of the district's listed companies, unicorn companies (startups valued at more than $1 billion), top 500 private companies, and industry-leading and innovation-oriented companies.

It will promote cooperation in the digital economy and digitalization of the traditional manufacturing sector.

The district's association of industry and commerce will guide the chamber in legal services and strengthen cooperation with Hangzhou chambers of commerce in other cities such as Shanghai and Beijing.

The district has been vigorously promoting digital economic development in recent years by integrating its five pillars industries–trade, finance, cultural and creative industry, healthcare and information technology–with the internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence and other digital technologies. It now houses many high-quality digital companies.
