The Lin’an Court in Hangzhou handled a lawsuit on an online digital platform on Feb 10. It is the first trial to be overseen by the court in 2020.

The lawsuit, which was originally scheduled to be held in the Lin’an Court on Feb 10, had to be transferred to an online platform developed by the court in partnership with China Mobile amid the current epidemic.

Judges oversaw the divorce proceedings filed by a female surnamed Jiang against her husband.

In order to make sure the online court session went smoothly, technical workers at the court spent three days debugging the digital system in partnership with engineers from China Mobile.

Through the platform, the court session will be simultaneously recorded and uploaded onto the digital court system.

Jiang expressed thanks to the court for allowing her to deal with everything without traveling far.

According to officials at the Lin’an Court, moving forward, they will continue to promote the use of the remote trial system.
