Tea companies in the Thousand-Island Lake scenic area of Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, are now making green tea at full capacity, as orders are flooding in along with the start of Spring.

At the workshop of Chaojiu Agricultural Product Co in Chun’an county, Hangzhou, dozens of machines are working on overdrive to carry out every step in the tea-making process.

Workers have been busy since the company resumed operations after a lengthy break caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

Fang Xiaoguo, chief executive of the company, said that nearly 1,000 orders are placed every day on the e-commerce platform.

“A number of dealers in Jiangsu, Anhui, and Hubei provinces have recently placed orders, meaning we need to produce about 3 million yuan ($428,057) worth of tea,” said Fang, adding that his company received 8 million yuan in revenue last year.

Fang stressed that the company remained strict on prevention and control of the virus despite the busy work schedule.

He said that the company had prepared preventative medical supplies for employees and he himself would oversee the disinfection of the workshop every day.

He went on to say that Thousand-Island Lake teas are very competitive and he is confident in their future.
