Hangzhou, dubbed "China's capital of e-commerce", has many online celebrities, around 80 to 90 percent of whom are females. The Qiantang Intelligence City is particularly renowned for e-commerce live streaming and is home to a large number of females working as online celebrities.

At the founding ceremony of the association, a number of officials including Lou Yejie, chairwoman of the Hangzhou Women's Federation, Ye Su, deputy Party secretary of Jianggan district, Xu Yingyan, director of the Jianggan publicity department, and Chen Bolin, secretary of the Party working committee of the management committee of the Hangzhou Qiantang Intelligence City, unveiled the plaque of the association.

A total of 51 females have been elected members of the association and appointed as "Hangzhou female internet celebrity welfare ambassadors".

Zhang Dayi, top executive of the association, said that she would bring more female internet celebrities together, deliver on social responsibilities, and contribute to improving welfare for women and children.

Zhang added that members of the association would engage in philanthropic activities, including promoting agricultural products on the internet for farmers.

In order to help members of the association focus on their jobs, the Hangzhou Women's Federation will provide personalized services involving healthcare, policy counseling, psychological counseling, legal aid, and more.

On the same day as the association's founding, members of the association carried out its first promotional live stream for local agricultural products.
