Hangzhou residents will be able to take the bus or subway for free during morning and evening rush hours from March 18 to March 31, according to a notice released by the Hangzhou leading group for prevention and control of COVID-19 on March 17.

According to the notice, residents in Hangzhou will be exempt from bus and subway fees from 7 am to 9 am, and 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

The new policy is applicable to bus routes in urban areas and all subways.

According to the announcement made by the Hangzhou Public Transport Group, passengers need only to show their health codes and wear masks before boarding the bus and do not need to swipe their public bus card or insert coins while the policy is in effect, during which time strict prevention and control measures will continue to be taken
