The China Liangzhu Digital Culture Community opened in Hangzhou on March 31. The community is part of efforts by Hangzhou Liangzhu New City in Yuhang district to develop a digital culture industry.

According to Jiang Min, deputy director of the management committee of Liangzhu New City, the community will focus on the production of games, animation, films, and television.

More than 60 projects have negotiated cooperation and over 40 projects will be carried out in the community, Jiang said.

During the opening ceremony, the China Innovation Design Big Data Hangzhou Center and the Zhejiang Key Lab for Design Intelligence and Digital Innovation were unveiled.

Liangzhu New City also announced 10 policies to promote the growth of the digital cultural industry and a digital cultural community.

The policies involve incubators, talent programs, the protection and application of intellectual property rights, the listing of companies, industrial funds, taxes, and technological innovation.

In 2019, the added value of the cultural creativity industry in Yuhang was 160.4 billion yuan ($22.58 billion), a year-on-year increase of 14.1 percent.
