New library opens in Yuhang district

Yuhang district in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, received a new library - the Linping Library - on May 28.

The library, which offers free admission to residents, is located on Qiushan Street in Yuhang and houses more than 80,000 books.

It was built by the Yuhang culture, broadcast, television and tourism bureau and the government of Linping Street.

It makes use of multiple technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, three-dimensional vision and big data, offering up an immersive reading experience for visitors.

Visitors can acquire real-time information on the number of visitors and the popularity of certain books by checking the large screen in the lobby. All visitors must also have their faces scanned before entering.
